Nordic Fusion becomes Merchandising Cloud's latest Australian client, with Personalized Search and Recommendations solutions
The Challenge
All the world over, Scandinavian design is hailed for its simple and minimalistic beauty. Nowhere is immune to the charm of this movement, it seems, not even Australia.
Testament to this is Nordic Fusion, a New South Wales-based retailer offering the very best in homeware, clothing, and gifts from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.
The concept for the store was born in 2005, when Swedish and Norwegian friends came together to sell Scandinavian goods in their Australian shop. The store changed hands in 2017, with the new owner, Karla Armas, being just as passionate about all things Nordic.
Today, the store sells from brick-and-mortar locations, but also offers an extensive line of items for sale online. Now, the latest milestone in Nordic Fusion’s business journey lies in its integration with Swedish-based search and personalization software company Merchandising Cloud.
The Solution
What is Merchandising Cloud and how does it help increase ecommerce revenue?
Merchandising Cloud is an advanced AI solution which uses algorithms, advanced AI and machine-learning to change the order in which each individual shopper sees each product, meaning each user has the most optimized personalized journey without the need for any manual work.

The Personalized Search solution is powered by an advanced AI algorithm which learns, in real-time, the preferences of online shoppers and re-orders product listings accordingly to reflect these learnings. Customers see more of the products they like and, therefore, end up buying more.
The Results
The Recommendations solution, meanwhile, identifies hot sellers, recently viewed items, frequently purchased together, and newest products. This ecommerce tool, which can be placed in any location on a store’s ecommerce website, allows retailers to maximize their online store’s upsell and cross-sell capabilities without having to manually curate the products shown.
